Nzwaki Chauke is a wife, a mother of two, Director and Founder of Villa Bridal Boutique. Growing up at Qunu, Mthatha in Eastern Cape I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I’ve always been passionate about all things beauty and fashion. When I came to Johannesburg, I studied fashion design and  somatology. My plans were to own an exclusive Boutique or a Day Spa.

I worked for a few cosmetics companies including MAC Cosmetics, I was lucky to be chosen as one of the Makeup Artist to work at Fashion Week. It was in the early 2000s, when it just launched. I also freelanced as fashion Stylist for a few magazines, meeting some of the most admired women in the country, to name a few Graca Machel, Josina Machel, Sindi Koyane, Redi Tlhabi and some of them are still my clients.

In 2008 I met Eve from Eve’s Bridalwear while we were working on a Top Billing Wedding shoot. We clicked from the word go. I told her that I wanted to open an exclusive Boutique that imports fine clothes. Only to find that even though she predominantly custom design dresses, she always aspared to import ready-made wedding gowns, as there was a market for that.

We decided to join forces, move to bigger premises at Illovo Square in Sandton and started importing the Maggie Sottero Designs. A few years later she relocated to Cape Town and opened a Boutique there. After nine years of successfully running Eve’s Bridalwear Johannesburg, I was ready to be on my own. I changed the name in May 2018, because Eve was no longer a shareholder.

It’s a dream come true and an honor for me to be part of hundreds of Brides journey of choosing a dress for the most important day of her life. I’m passionate, not only about helping her choose a dress, but the best silhouette that best fits her body. Nothing gives me more joy.
